It will be necessary to evaluate the character defects that identify pathological personality traits of each addict, aspects that will be managed through psychoeducation and with individual, group, occupational psychotherapy and participation in the NA or AA groups.
Therapeutic interventions will be based on the following criteria:
The addictions have a deep root in the formation of the personality.
The family plays a fundamental role in the genesis, development and treatment of the addict.
The process known as individuation is stopped in some addict´s personality functioning areas preventing him from reaching his maturity his autonomy and the enjoyment of his freedom.
Addictions can conceptualize a false individuation.
Therapeutic process will consider dysfunctional family aspects and seek to commit the family with psycho-education, for this purpose it will complement the family formation with AL Anon Guiding Principles.
In the therapeutic process, rehabilitation of the addict is conceived by stages that will be intimately related to the phases of psychosexual development of the individual described by Ericson.
